To record your desktop screen activity, you can either hold the Windows, Alt, and R buttons on your keyboard to start the recording session, or you can simply click on the 'Start Recording' icon. The same shortcut can be used to stop recording.

In the Desktop Capture settings window, make sure the Frames Per Second value is set to as high as needed. If you are unsure, set it to match the frame rate in vMix Settings under the Display Tab, this will usually be either 30 or 25. The amount of movement or changes on the screen.

Press the red 'record' button at the right of the Express Encoder window.
[ ] Specify the region you wish to record - I am using 'Full Screen' for this example. If you have multiple monitors you may want to specify the region using the tool.
[ ] Press the Red Record button
You may see the following screen - the keys to stop the recording are: Ctrl + Shift + F12 - press Ok.
[ ] Recreate the problem you are working on.
[ ] Stopping the desktop recording - press Ctrl + Shift + F12 to see the following
Now we have to send the recording to the 'Encoder' to complete this process.
[ ] Click on the 'ScreenCapture...' name (Not the play arrow preceding the file name)
[ ] Click on 'Send to Encoder' at the bottom right
[ ] The Expression Encoder window will show up

You will see the following status while the movie is being encoded

The PSR tool (Problem Steps Recorder) is a Microsoft tool available on Windows 7 PCs and later. When this tool is running it will gather screen shots and mouse clicks until you stop the recording. The resulting click steps and screen shots will be displayed in a 'Steps Recorder' window. You simply have to save the recorded steps as a zip document on your desktop and submit that data for review.

Note:
If you do not have a 'Run' option you may press the Windows Logo Key + R. The Windows logo key is typically located between the Ctrl and Alt keys on your keyboard.

It is possible to see the following warning popup. If you know the program window you are attempting to record was started as an administrator you will have to use the 'Run as administrator' option as seen below.
[ ] Recreate the issue
Work through your recreate steps for the problem. PSR can be minimized if you wish.
[ ] Annotating or commenting on your screens.
If you have a particular section of a screen that you wish to draw focus to and add comments - simply press the 'Add Comment' button.
Notes:
Your screen will immediately have a white overlay.
Use your mouse to click and drag a selection area over the portion of your screen that you would like to comment on.
Example - I want to draw attention to the 'Not installed' status I am seeing from the WRKPTFGRP screen. Notice how the majority of the screen has the white
overlay and the selection area is outlined in red.
You will see a 'Highlight Problem and Comment' dialog box in the lower right portion of your screen. You may add the appropriate comments here to further
describe the issue you are seeing. Once done - press 'Ok'
Once you click 'Ok' your screen will go back to normal and you can continue recreating the problem. Feel free to add comments on any screen.
[ ] Stop recording and save the resulting file
Press the 'Stop Record' button
- Press the 'Save' button

- Save the file as RecordedProblemSteps.zip on your desktop
- Submit the RecordedProblemSteps.zip for further review
